Meals

Lunches on day sails and dinners on sunset cruises are available with advance notice. A lunch and dinner menu is available upon request. These optional meals are prepared by Captain Larry who is a gourmet chef. Guests are welcome to bring their own food. A microwave oven is available for reheating prepared meals brought aboard.

Several types of sandwiches with homemade potato salad are offered for lunch including Captain Larry’s own peanut butter and avocado sandwich. Mexican and Italian entrees such as chicken enchiladas, beef lasagna, and pizza are his dinner specialties. Other dinner entrees include BQ country spare ribs, BQ chicken breasts, and filet mignon grilled to order. Live Maine lobsters are steamed onboard. If you don't see your favorite dish on the menu, just let Captain Larry know what you would like - he'll do his best to prepare it.

All onboard meals on multi-day adventures to Catalina and the other Channel Islands are included in the rates. Captain Larry prepares these meals and will need to know in advance your culinary preferences. Carmina Mare features a gourmet galley suitable for preparing sumptuous feasts while anchored or at sea. Guests may also dine at any of the fine restaurants in Avalon or at the restaurant at the Isthmus of Catalina. None of the other islands have restaurants.

As any sailor knows, meals aboard a sailing yacht are critical for the safety and enjoyment of a voyage. Your hosts will ensure that this important aspect of your sailing adventure is not overlooked. Captain Larry loves food, loves to cook, and loves to EAT!
